Solution by Industry – Hospital

Hospital Wastewater Treatment Plant and Effluent Recycling System (ERS) by imemflo MBRs.

The wastewater from hospitals and nursing homes provides enormous challenges. These usually come from the use of many drugs and disinfectants. This is of course a major task for biological wastewater treatment plants. We at imemflo are familiar with such tasks and have wastewater treatment plants that function as a combination of the biological process and submerged filtration process consist of Hollow Fibre Membrane Bio Reactor (HF MBR) / Flat Sheet Membrane Bio Reactor (FS MBR). Hospital treated water then can be recycled back to multiple uses.

with the latest breakthrough in the water conservation, MBR technology is said to be the most affluent and effective method for hospital waste water treatment. MBR technology by Imemflo can provide a modern filtration system. it removes 90-95 % harmful substances from the waste water and making it usable for non-potable applications.

In this way, we can reduce the water footprint and cut down the water cost. Hence, securing future generations by engaging the latest technology and helping them to create new water. So, let’s create a long-lasting impact on the world by using imemflo MBR.

WASTEWATER CHARACTERISTIC OF HOSPITAL WASTEWATER

Traditionally Hospital Wastewater treatment plant / sewage treatment plant designed with conventional biological process like Activated Sludge Process (ASP), MBBR (Moving Bed Bio Reactor), SBR (Sequential Batch Reactor) and some time UASB. Such process effectively removes OD (biological Oxygen Demand), TSS (total Suspended Solids) very effectively but not very effective for the reduction of pathogens.

Conventionally treated wastewater having high load of BOD & TSS which require very high level of disinfection treatment, commonly done by liquid chlorine or gas Chlorine. Excessive residual chlorine not only increases the treatment costs of hospital wastewater, but also causes the serious second pollution to aquatic environment.

IMEMFLO MBR BASED WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT / SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT IN HOSPITAL

Imemflo Hollow Fiber MBRs & Flat sheet MBRs with ultra-filtration range has a good capability to degrade organic compound in wastewater and remove wide range of microorganisms, resulting in a high-quality treated water almost free from pathogenic microorganism. Imemflo MBR deliver great performance compared to conventional sewage treatment plant techniques and protect public health & environment.

CASE STUDY – 500 Bed Hospital in India

Imemflo Hollow Fiber MBR systems was installed in 500 bed community hospital, with capacity of 350 m3/d.  Since the startup, these facilities have worked well and the treated water meet the requirements of the wastewater reuse standard.

CONCLUSION

Due to stringent & controlled treated water parameters, non-availability of space in Hospital premises, growing awareness of reusing of treated water in non-potable application, reduction in operating cost and effective removal of pathogen and microbiological contamination, these are key point which will drive future designing of wastewater treatment plant in Hospital industry. Imemflo MBR is ready with their well-trained professional team to support upcoming & new hospital to train & guide & aware them for effective use of treated water by using imemflo hollow fiber MBRs.
