However, about 96.5 % of all earth’s water is held by the ocean. 1.5% is frozen in glaciers, 1% is underground aquifers, rivers, permafrost while only 1.0% is available for sustaining life on earth and for human consumption.
Is 1.0% enough for nearly 8 billion people on earth?
According to the World Health Organization, approximately 2.2 billion people lack access to safe and affordable drinking water.
4.2 billion people are without basic sanitation services.
884 million people are deprived off basic water drinking & services.
Compared to other natural resources, fresh water is limited in supply and unequally distributed across the world’s population.

This water shortage shows the significance of water for the generations to come. With no water conservation or reduction in consumption, the life we experience today will not be possible to exist.
